Broncos (8 & 9 years*)
In this class we expect kids to be taking the sport a little more seriously, as far as focus, discipline, and following directions. We expect them to be implementing what we are learning into their live wrestling and competitions. However, tournaments are not super important at this point, as we are continuing to fine tune that strong foundation of basic fundamentals. Don’t get caught up in the chaos of ‘keeping up with the Jones”. At these ages is when you will begin to be pressured to do dual teams and travel tournaments. We urge you to keep in mind that it will be another DECADE before your child receives an athletic scholarship, if they are able to earn one. This is a long journey, and we are just getting started. It’s gonna be a fun ride, so sit back and enjoy it, don’t make it go faster than it already will.
Emphasis: Colts + Mustangs + development of deeper understanding of cause/effect and how we can control the match and anticipate positions to be more successful, how little things win big matches, how to be a good partner.
